Ok ok ok Royal au Royal au ararararah

now to yap about my Royal au cause I’m normal. (Longer post- I just infodump about my AU basically-)

So what I have in drafts is all mainly brothers or prison duo centric, as if you know my fics I usually write from Icarus’s perspective on things. The main ships I would be focusing on are ghaae, nightingstar, Wolftross, and then prison duo- but I have cameos of all of the cannon ships of course. I’m gonna kind of just go through and explain roles of my main guys tho- so hope you like this as a sort of starting summary? I guess?

Icarus is the crown prince of the gilded kingdom. Basically the other full representative of the overworld who’s not Fable. Basically, they are heir to the throne, have to maintain a public image, help Fable out with royal duties and pretty much prepare to be the next monarch to ensure a smooth transition if “mortal king Fable” passes away. (He can’t die- I’ll get to that maybe- but yknow. God.)

I’ll talk about Isla and things later in this post, so I won’t mention it now- but yeah. Icarus is the only heir to the gilded kingdom.

Centross is Icarus’s bodyguard (yes I’m going down that road for the prison duo content. I’m so unpredictable /silly/sarc/lh) Royal guard? Close enough probably. Which- idk if I have to get into what he does. I think you can assume. Protection stuff. He was a former assassin, having used to work with Enderian. I’m doing a cliche maybe- but- yknow- he was sent to kill Icarus, ended up unable to do so… so now he’s a bodyguard for them instead of going back to Enderian. (There’s probably a promise of mutual protection somewhere- I’m sure Icarus would not have let Fable give them a bodyguard before then, and when he did they’d make it everyone’s problem- instead wanting to prove they could protect themself. There’s something there. Yeah.)

Wolftross is yes a thing, I think they were probably together for a while- maybe not long after he first became a royal guard. At Icarus’s request, he can visit Fenris whenever he wants probably. Easton replaces him when he’s gone (even after he became blind- at Icarus’s request he will continue that role. They trust him- and he’s capable.)

In the one thing I wrote, I gave him end features as well. I’m moreso debating on that- but I think it’d be a cool thing as a byproduct of being one of Enderian’s closest advisors and trusted assasin. Or- I give them to him later when he gets to be god. He gets them at some point- for me.

Rae is the crown prince of the end kingdom- full representative of the end that is not Enderian. I’d think she gives him more freedom than Icarus gets from fable, her being the end mother she is. She did have the same I guess cruel past that she does in cannon- I’m trying to figure out how I’m translating s1 into this AU still, and maybe you’ll get a oneshot of that eventually. Atleast the prison arc- of course. He left the gilded kingdom (either with Isla, or later on his own I have drafts for. But- probably with Isla) and lived with Isla for a bit- she runs for help from soul and things like in cannon and she helps hide them for a bit. Though- Isla ends up having Rae stay with Enderian. She probably stays as long as she can without compermising Rae’s safety, but maybe gets caught by Fable eventually.

Fenris is Rae’s bodyguard. He is a former general for the Nether’s army, just like in cannon. (I have to rewatch some of his lore before confidently talking about how he gets to become Rae’s bodyguard, so I’m sorry I won’t have too much info at the moment <3)

He becomes Rae’s bodyguard later- Enderian probably heard of his reputation as “the wolf” and hired him. (May try to include the wolf arc- but am again, trying to figure out how to integrate it.)

Now- basic plot summary? Something of the sort? Yeah. Some random details too cause I have no one train of thought ever and am just writing whatever I think of down. /lh

So for some backstory- Islas story is basically the same as in lore. But it changes for that bit after Rae was born just to adhere to the different circumstances Royal AU brings to the table. So, Rae grows a bit before Isla takes him and runs in this AU- he’s older, couldn’t tell you how old (age is a lie/silly/j) but just. A child. She notices how he’s being treated by Fable, takes him and leaves. She doesn’t take Icarus. There’s a lot of consideration for that fact- of course there is. Their her child. But- they’re not close, Fable makes sure of that. They spend most of their time with him, and their his heir after all. Their disappearance would be the worst to explain. So she doesn’t take them with her.

She takes Rae, and over the course of a few years- stays in a sort of safe house like in cannon, learns the things she does there, goes to soul for help, all that stuff. But she ends up taking Rae to Enderian, he becomes crown prince. She stays with them until it compromises Rae’s safety. Fable finds her, she doesn’t give away that she’d stayed with Enderian and that stays secret for a long time. Fable finds her, messes with her memories and things (he’s messed with Icarus’s too at this point- probably erasing Rae entirely) end she goes into a coma. He locks her away, Icarus doesn’t even know she’s here- and ends up having no memories of her anyways. Only fable knows where she’s locked away. Some tower in the castle sleeping beauty style probably.

Rae grows up in the end kingdom, Icarus grows up in the overworld.

Rae meets Caspian in the end prison- advocating for his freedom and things. He gets him a place in the end kingdom, and they get together at a peaceful festival in the overworld. That is an annual festival- Rae meets aax and takes her there too. He and Cas talk- and probably end up asking Aax out there too- making a whole day out of it probably. It’s a tradition for them, after all.

Aax lives with Cas, and Rae stays with them on weekends? Mayhaps? Something like that. He’s allowed to visit them whenever.

I like to think maybe Cas helps Athena and Bruin run the bakery on occasion. Bed and breakfast. Idk. Rae is definelty still the taste tester on Aax safe foods. And also a waiter on opening day for multiple reasons- one, it’s funny- two, yknow. Royal press. Media(?) purposes. Yknow what I mean hopefully.

Also- end kingdom I think had parts in the overworld and end? Like- overworld has the stronghold portal as the center and then made a kingdom around that, and then there’s an end part of the kingdom. This was probably a result of a peace treaty Isla had led years before between the realms after the war. Because badass mother deserves it. But to explain that- yeah. I think the Nether doesn’t- but has a trading hub spreading through portals and things. Yknow. Just not kingdom- I think the overworld is still more cold to people from the nether so. No kingdom. But portals can be made anywhere instead of having just one like the end, so that makes sense.

Gilded kingdom is just the biggest kingdom in the overworld areas we know- as Fable is the god of creation. I just have cool ideas for kingdom designs. May build them in Minecraft actually who knows- (if I do I will in fact post the pictures)

The Aether kingdom was a thing for souls and stuff as it was in cannon, but fell the same way. Alerion and Will live peacefully in one of the overworld kingdoms living normal lives away from everything, as they deserve.

A lot of the fable characters probably lives in the overworld, and just travel between realms.

Athena’s house probably has an area like his lab, where half is in the overworld and half is in the nether. If not, maybe their bed and breakfast- or atleast she has some nether bakery locations maybe with nether specific treats! Cause I think they deserve it and I just think it’d be cool.

Will has a cartographers shop in his village- like a cartographer villager type thing.

Rae has his archives he runs in his kingdom, there are two- one in the overworld part and one in the nether.

Starbarks definelty exists, does Fenris cannonly in this AU run all of the businesses he runs in actual cannon? Probably not. Do they exist? Probably.

Ven works as a close advisor for Fable, and Ari is hired as a knight or general of a sort for fable. Maybe more like a spy. Cat scratch records exist probably.

The world sisters do exist, most likely- (logistically if this was like a alternate “fable raises Icarus AU” they probably wouldn’t but I can do what I want and I say they’re here cause I love them- /silly)

Addie- Addie idk- maybe they work on like a night shift for the archives? Or like as an intern.

Ulysses- idk where to put Ulysses. Oh you silly fish man you. I will incorporate all the telchin stuff, definetly, I think just think of the cannon lore for that one.

Also- Quixis is there somewhere. Probably not in the same way for plot- but gotta include them in every au somehow /silly

1 Year, 7 Months, 20 Days since we first saw the fragment of the night Isla was taken. Today that memory was finally complete.

Here’s Headcanons.

Rae and Icarus played those two player games a lot on their comms. When Icarus came back from being Quixis, Rae asked Icarus if they wanted to play those games again. Icarus got flooded with memories of laughing so hard with Rae that he accepted.

When Rae was born, Icarus tried to make him a blanket but failed. Little Icarus didn’t know how to embroider or sew so they learned from Isla.

Each of the broters has a baby blanket. We all know Rae’s was blue. I would like to think Icarus’s was yellow or gold at first but then when their eye started bleeding it turned yellow and purple. (Oh and Rae’s had little stars and moon embroidered while Icarus’s had a sun and clouds.)

Athena’s baby blanket was the soul dark teal with red and gold. It had little patterns over it that looked like their outfits Wanda (I think it was..?) gave them.

When Soul was freed from her curse, she took Athena to the place where she kept Athena’s baby blanket. The blanket was still in good ish condition (since it was in the nether but hidden away). Soul wrapped it around Athena’s shoulders like a cape kind of.

Violet and Icarus plays competitive games with each other. It’s not for the competition, it’s too see who gets more angry during it. Afterwards, they both laugh and tell each other their pov of the event

When I did rae with the wheel it was before rae was a god and I decided if I'm going to do this right I've atleast got to do the most recent versions of each of the characters meaning I had to do a god form of rae I couldn't pick which version to post so I put all 3 so I give you Rae Vessel Of Wonder

Being the goddess of the mind means all your emotions are amplified. The care and patience for her when she runs to you. The anger towards your brother for hurting her. The despair you feel for not being able to love her son because they're his too.

Even though your a goddess you feel hopeless sometimes. You can tell shes still afraid. You often hear your love waking up in the middle of the night from nightmares. You can hear the child your trying so hard to learn how to love crying from the memories of him. You can tell shes hiding something but thats okay, she will tell you eventually right?

As you wait you think over your thoughts. A lot of them have anger attached, anger toward your brother, anger for how he struck down your twin, anger for your love, anger for the child who bears his face but is terrified of him. But theres also love, the love and adoration for her, the love for her son, the child you have learned to adore.

You finally learned what she was hiding, she told you. You're becoming a mother. The very thought is both exhilarating and terrifying to you. If your brother finds out both she and the baby are in danger. It won't be safe for her with you.

Its a hard decision isnt it? Choosing between keeping her close and sending her away. It will have to be her own choice. The thought of her returning to his realm scares you. You fear for her safety and the childrens. He is ruthless and will do anything to achieve his goal.

You asked her. She told you her plan. Soul has promised to keep her and the children safe. She promised to write. And you still have a few weeks. Right? You asked her. She told you that theres maybe a week left until she must leave to be able to get to Souls aid safely.

She left last night. She and the child. The castle feels empty without them here. You know your keeping them both safe. One day you'll be able to see them again. One day you'll be able to meet your child.

A few months have passed. Shes sent you weekly messages. The most recent one wasn't from her. It was from Soul. An additional item was included. A small picture of them all, your love holding your baby son with his older brother peeking over the side of the bed.

Their hair has grown out to its natural brown again. You know how much they hate it. You remember them telling you how it makes them look more like him. You remember the genuine smile when you helped them dye their hair black like yours. You remember the smile across both you and your loves faces the first time they called you mom.

You wrote back as you always do. You thanked Soul for the photo. For the bit of your home. You hold the photo close. You framed it with the pressed orchid she sent in one of the letters. It sits on your bedstand.

She wrote to you again. Shes back in his realm. He attacked Soul. You want so desperately to tell her to come back. To bring both her and your children back to you. But that would put all of them in even more danger. Including your little boy. He just turned 6. She includes little messages from him now. Sometimes you get messages from his brother.

They sent you a letter. He found them. Your little boy saw it. He saw her get taken. By him. Your oldest wrote. They wrote about how scared they are. They're only what 12? 13? They have no clue how to raise their little brother. They beg to come back to you. To take everything and run back to you. But they cant. Because he still doesn't know that your boy is yours.

It pains you as you write back telling them to stay in his realm. You include a list of what you did to help raise them. As much as you want to bring them to you and hide them away from him it would never last. He would find them eventually.

The letters stopped coming. You want to go find them. But theres only one explanation. He found them. You hate the thought but its the only explanation.

You saw them again. Its been so many years since you saw them last. Their eyes are split yellow and purple. The purple one bleeds. You want to pull them close and ask what happened. But they are with a group. Theres a black haired man with them. One who bears her face. Her smile, her fear. Their brother, your son.

They chose to stay to 'save' Netherums child. You wait until their companions fall asleep to enter. They give you a sad smile. You give them an offer. More of a connection to you. You make them promise not to forget their brother. Not to hurt him. They accept. You ask for their name and for his. Shebert they tell you, Sherbert and Rae.

You got to speak to Rae. He didn't recognize you. Hes never met you after all. Not to mention his memory was tampered with. He won't remember you, you knew he wouldn't. You try to be as kind as possible. You remove one of the eyes from the frame. You end the communication.

You cry for the first time in years that night. Your children are reunited but without you.

So Isla married Fable out of necessity, basically.

When a conqueror is at your door, you must find some way to pacify him- so she did.

I don't think Isla ever thought that Fable was a "good man." sure, she didn't know he was a god. But in her eyes, he was a man killing for his own desire, for control. Maybe she thought he'd be nicer in his marriage. But he wasn't.

As Fable said himself, he didn't know how to be a mortal man.

Fable had all of this power in his hands. The control, the loving subjects, the ruthless armies. The fact that he was the god of creation.

While Isla may have not seen the entire picture- that godhood- there was no evidence that everything would go well. All she could do was hope.

And that hope was crushed as the marriage progressed. Her talks with Enderian, the growing worry for Icarus as he sat under the influence of his father, being pregnant with Enderian's child, the things Enderian told her, the more she saw the "humanity" of Enderian and her people, then Soul, and Athena.

But even if Isla didn't know the entire picture; she still knew a bit. And she still chose to sacrifice her live, her happiness, her hope, her dreams to save her people. And then to save her son.

I think Isla would be proud of Rae. His tireless passion for discovery, his willingness to drive himself to the ground for others. But I do think she'd tell him to breathe. To ask for help. Just like she asked for help.

I think she'd hate that Icarus has fallen into Fable's hands. She knows the "love" he displays firsthand, and that's not something she'd want for Icarus. I'm not sure she'd even blame Icarus- to an extent, maybe, but moreover she would blame the man that manipulated Icarus into that.

Icarus didn't kill Haley because Enderian said so. Icarus killed Haley because he was searching for approval. Approval he never got. Not from Enderian. Not from Centross. Not from his own father.

So while Enderian may have been the vessel for blame in that situation- and she was truly at fault for a lot of it- Enderian didn't make Icarus kill Haley. All Enderian did was (accidentally) emphasize that part of Icarus that desired so much to be loved, to have approval.

But Fable's the one who put that insecurity into Icarus's head.

Anyways, Fable sucks, Enderian sucks but less, and Isla is the one of the strongest and best women to ever exist.

Thinking about the Son of Orchid and Child of Creation tittles, and how that represents how each brother was raised

Because Rae is the son of Orchid

He is Isla’s son

He was raised by her and has a lot of her traits

He has memories and writing of hers

And to the gods, he is clearly Isla’s son

But Icarus is not referred to as Isla’s, they are referred to as Creations

Because although they are technically Isla’s son, they weren’t raised by her

They weren’t allowed to be raised by her

They don’t even remember her

But they have many of Fable’s traits

Causing the gods to see them as Creations child, not Isla’s

Do you think Islas ganna wake up and wonder why her boys are so different? Why their hurt and bruised and they both have an eye thats not theirs? Different from the ones they had during their childhood, Both touchy about it for different reasons, do you think she's going to have to look into their unfamiliar eyes and be heartbroken because she tried to protect them both from exactly what they went through, from Fable, and from Enderian, and in her inability- something she couldn't have changed, she missed them growing up- their entire adult lives. and do you think it'll hurt more for the two brothers to have a parent who is devastated about how much they went through instead of pretending they can fix it if the two of them just listen blindly

FABLE SMP SPOILERS FOR "Where orchids bloom"!!

Isla was happy that she could raise her children so that this war will not shape them and they can be who they want to be.

And yet here we are. Both of them shaped by wars and fights. AB vs OB, against the warden and Perix and now again against each other. The war of the Realms again.

It’s Vaeh’s bday, so here’s ideas I think everyone would give her for gifts.

Rae and Fenris: They bake the cake with her favorite colors.

Caspian and Aax: Caspian makes a toy and then Aax paints the toy to make it look nice.

Cari: They draw something for Vaeh (most likely a drawing of them two.)

Athena and Soul: They both make together something that is custom to gift on one’s birthday from the nether.

Ari and the allays: They get a lot of flowers that will never die and give it to her.

Addie sends a book that she made herself. Addie wrote in the inside “Vaeh’s Photo Album.”

Ulysses makes Vaeh a wolf that’s purple stuffed animal.

Ocie and her family get Vaeh little souvenirs and trinkets.

The Pine family gives Vaeh nature themed things. Bruin gets her a lil cow. Easton gives her a piece of oak. Momboo gets Vaeh necklace with Vaeh’s name and flowers.

Isla makes a blanket for Vaeh with her full name in Ender on it.

Centross gets Vaeh a small sword that won’t hurt anyone.

Will and Alerion give her things from the Aether toys.

And finally, Icarixis glitches a gift into the world for Vaeh. The gift being a small bird stuffed animal with a Quixis symbol on its forehead. And a little potion stand and potion books so Vaeh can learn how to make potions. (Also the birds ask Bruin to get her a bird book but say it’s from them)
